Charles Wells Pub Company is one of the principal trading divisions of Charles Wells Ltd - a fiercely independent, private company.   It’s grown from its late 19th century roots as a local brewery and chain of 35 pubs to become one of England’s leading brewers and pub operators with international reach.  

Charles Wells Pub Company has an estate of 260 pubs, radiating out from its Bedford base across the Midlands and Northern Home Counties.  The pubs are operated on tenancy and lease agreements, with the company committed to providing expert support and advice to work in partnership with its retailers as they build their businesses.  The support includes training, marketing, finance and quality expertise and which continue to help licensees outperform their local market.  It’s widely recognised that Charles Wells offers double the level of head office support for licensees over other pub company’s and this contributed to being named Pub Company of the Year at the Publican Awards for two years running, in 2009 and 2010.
