Mihaela, Housekeeping Supervisor

My name is Mihaela, and I am a Housekeeping Supervisor at Roehampton Club.  I am from Romania, and I came to London in 2014. I started work at Roehampton Club as a kitchen porter in the Food and Beverage department, and after three years working for that team, I moved to the Housekeeping Department.  After a few months as a Housekeeping Assistant, I became a Housekeeping Supervisor. My husband also works at Roehampton Club. We came to London together and started working at the Club when we arrived. We have a 4-year-old daughter and after 10 years we still really enjoy working here!

Alex Binfield, Food and Beverage Supervisor

I have worked at Roehampton Club since April 2023 and really enjoy engaging with the Members and working with people that are easy to get along with.  The Club also treats staff very well with lots of staff benefits.  I joined the Roehampton Club team as a Bar Assistant and was then promoted to Bar Team Leader. I was then given the opportunity to become the Food and Beverage Supervisor with responsibilities in the Club Cafe, Juice Bar and Bistro.

Ryan Barlow, Fitness Trainer

I have worked at Roehampton Club for the last four and a half years now, thoroughly enjoying my time at the Club. What I enjoy the most about working here is that the Club knows how to look after staff through offering things like staff fitness classes that we, as trainers teach, and being able to use other facilities such as tennis and golf which also leads to us learning new skills.  My journey at the Roehampton Club started off as a Lifeguard back in late 2019.  Shortly after the first Covid lockdown, I progressed onto becoming a Team Leader for nearly a year and a half. Currently I am one of the Fitness Trainers, a job I have always wanted to do which I am very happy about. I have been a Fitness Trainer for almost two years now.

Rodleigh Fortuin, Greenkeeper

I started at Roehampton Club as a Reception Supervisor but had a change of heart when a Greenkeeping position came available, and I applied for it internally. I did a few trial days on the golf course and was successful. I never looked back since. Since joining the Greenkeeping team I have been sent for further education and development to Level 2 in Greenkeeping, spray qualifications and also possess a chainsaw/ felling qualification. I enjoy working here due to the fact that if you work hard, you will be developed. Almost five years at the Club and I am now working towards a Level 3 Greenkeeping qualification and other essentials courses e.g. forklift and digger driver licences.

MEET SOME OF OUR MANAGERS

Paul Lindsay, Racquets Manager – Head Squash and Padel Tennis Professional

Having worked at Roehampton Club for 20 years it is easy to forget just how special a place it is. The fun & friendly Members and Staff alike make each day a pleasure to come to work while knowing the Club is always looking to improve and move forwards. I originally started work as a Club receptionist, the Club will support and push your development as much as you want in your employment. This has seen me progress to Racquets Administrator alongside a coaching position of Head Squash Professional and now Racquets Manager.  The forward-thinking nature of the Club, with world-class facilities, has seen me lead on the exciting projects such as a new squash doubles court, introduction of Padel Tennis and the racquets team adding a Pickleball programme.

Rahma Khairadin, People Engagement Manager

After working in retail and leisure clubs, my journey with Roehampton Club started in 2021 joining as the Front of House Manager, leading the Reception Team in the Clubhouse and the Health Club.

In 2023, I was promoted to a new role with additional responsibilities such as being a key part of the induction process for new staff members, responsibility of the Club’s Mental Health First Aiders and their training, being a point of contact for new Members, encouraging as many Members, new and existing, to get online to book classes/events, and manage their Club accounts.

My first impression of the Club was working at reception at Virgin Active Riverside and seeing the Roehampton Club Ladies tennis teams. They won their matches and I always heard the hubbub of how great Roehampton Club was.

Stuart Reeks, Health Club Manager

After a background in the health and wellbeing industry across the world, I am now responsible for the management of the Health Club, including the gym, group exercise classes, swimming pools and the junior programming we offer. I have a fantastic team with great experience and knowledge that support me on delivering our programmes and ensure we are consistently delivering the best service possible. A focus is to ensure we have a comprehensive offering to all our Members whilst also introducing new ideas and ensure our facilities remain the best in market. I’m fairly new in my role but after spending time with the staff here in the Health Club, I am impressed by their passion and honesty and am happy that it’s the place I chose to work and to continue my personal development.
