Assistant Manager - The Bunk, Thatcham

The above role is to work in any area of the business and assist in the management of the business to ensure a smooth operation at all times. Also to provide relief management in the absence of the General Manager.

Duties;                                                       

  • to assist the General Manager in all aspects of bar, restaurant, kitchen, function and hotel management, stock control, admin, back office systems, security and cash management, customer complaints, recruitment and team management
  • to follow company procedures in all aspects of the business
  • to have a full understanding of the venues operations, manage staff rotas to budgets, report financials and to ensure all cash handling and stock control is adhered to
  • to ensure a high level of customer service and care at all times
  • to complete all company training as per your role requires
  • to ensure at all times that all legal requirements are strictly adhered to e.g. Licensing laws, Trade Descriptions Act, Weight & Measures Act, Food Hygiene Regulations, Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, C.O.S.H.H Regulations, Fire Regulations, Gaming Acts and any other licensable acts within the business/that may affect the business
  • to be aware of the location of both first aid and fire fighting equipment
  • to sell and serve all company food, drink and rooms to company standards and following company procedures for doing so
  • to follow company cash handling procedures
  • to deal with customer complaints to ensure a satisfactory outcome as per company/management policy. Management must be informed at all times of customer complaints
  • to maximise the full sales potential of the venue, including being aware of specials, promotions, upsell targets, all whilst ensuring high standards are being kept
  • to help ensure the security of the pub at all times
  • to attend all training sessions and team meetings when required
  • to always work within company rules and standards and any specific site rules set out by management
  • to carry out any other reasonable request made by management
