The Railway Hotel is a semi-detached building located on Ainsworth Road in the Radcliffe area of Manchester. The pub is situated in a residential area close to the main A58 that links Bury and Bolton. There are local schools and amenities close by. Radcliffe is a town within Greater Manchester and lies approximately two miles from Bury and six miles from Manchester with a population of approximately 33,000. Admiral Taverns may agree with the right licensee to create an outside balcony with an outside drinking area overlooking the bowling club.

Trading style

The Railway Hotel is a community pub that has good support from the local residents of Radcliffe. Currently there is limited entertainment on offer however there is scope to introduce live acts, karaoke and quiz nights to build on existing trade. The pub also benefits from a pool and darts team that provide a good mid-week trade and there is also an opportunity to introduce a football team. Sky Sports could be introduced to further increase footfall. Admiral Taverns are looking for applicants who are familiar with the area and are looking to become part of the community. Food plays an important part of this business and the new licensee will need to introduce a bar menu. Experience in catering is desirable however Admiral Taverns can offer the support and training to deliver a basic food offer.

The outlet consists of a large open plan trading area with various zones located around the pub. On entering the pub, you are faced with a pool area with a pool table and dart board. This area then leads onto an open plan lounge with the bar servery located to the right side of the pub. The lounge is carpeted throughout and can seat up to 60 covers. To the left of the lounge is a raised stage area for live entertainment. The large catering kitchen is located to the right of the pub, next to the bar server and is partially equipped. To the rear, is a well-maintained beer garden with benches. The car park, with space for up to 50 cars, surrounds the pub and is shared with the parade of shops. The general decoration of the pub is good however Admiral Taverns may look to invest in the pub with the right licensee.
