About the role…

You’ll likely be the first person our guests will meet when they arrive to our Venue in readiness for their meeting or event. As well as ensuring everything is set up and ready as per the pre-arranged requirements, you will also be responsible for:

• Operating the reception – Welcoming all guests in a friendly, sincere and professional manner, delivering inspirational service every time. You’ll also check the venue throughout the day to ensure the highest cleanliness standards are met, and touch base with the guests throughout the event to ensure everything is going to plan
• Assist with the opening / closing of the business – Preparing for upcoming events and ensuring a thorough handover
• Ensure our guests events go without a hitch, checking agreed arrangements, creating welcome packs, setting up room screens and being the contact for the day for any queries
• Prepare guest invoices accurately to ensure all revenue is captured

 About you…

We’re looking for someone who is approachable and friendly, has excellent communication skills and is able to work well within a team. You’ll need to work with other departments to ensure you are fully aware of all requirements and that these are delivered, but also be self-led as you will also work alone. You should have strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, and have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.

The BCEC offers a versatile mix of event spaces ideal for conferences, exhibitions, board meetings, award dinners, networking and charity events.  Most of our function space is fully-flexible and interconnecting and can comfortably accommodate a large scale conference for up to 1,000 delegates with ample breakout space for seminars, training sessions and refreshments.
