Kindred – Breakfast Chef

Starting at £9/hour dependent on experience, plus service charge and other benefits. 

New independent and exciting venue is looking for enthusiastic and talented BREAKFAST CHEFS to be part of the growing team of KINDRED: restaurant, café, bar and events space dedicated to building a community in West London. 

The Breakfast Chef will need to be able to prepare food to the Head Chef’s exact specifications and to be able to set up stations for the all-day menu. The Breakfast Chef will need to assist with daily tasks, ensure the breakfast and brunch specs are followed and their section is replenished for the next morning. 

Your shift will typically be from Monday – Friday from 7am until 4pm, with potential for some weekend shifts (but not the norm). 

 

Breakfast Chef Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

Be punctual for your shift start, be organised and ensure the kitchen is set for breakfast service before customers arrive. This includes baking of pastries, prepping ingredients and accepting deliveries. 

Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces)

Cook menu items to order in a timely and high quality fashion, in cooperation with the rest of the Kitchen Team. Follow Head Chef or Sous Chef’s instructions and maintain professional and positive relationships with the team. 

Take part in preparing dishes for larger private events (e.g. private brunch event). 

Comply with food safety standards, ensure your station is clean and tidy at all times, and take care of leftover food. 

 

Requirements

Minimum 1 year cooking experience, including experience as a Breakfast chef, restaurant cook or prep cook

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Familiar with industry’s best practices
